2022 Spring Fashion Campaigns

Spring campaigns are always something to look forward to for those who follow the fashion world. In 2022, many fashion and beauty brands released spectacular and effective campaigns to gain outreach and advertise their new designs. 

Kate Spade New York

For over a year, I have enjoyed using my Kate Spade purse. Due to Kate Spade's incredible deals, I bought the bag at a discounted price, and I get compliments on it frequently. For years, the company has dominated the purse industry in more ways than one by releasing annual campaigns. Kate Spade is known to release bags in all shapes, sizes, and colors; however, the new"Kate Spade New York Spring 2022 Campaign" is as colorful as ever. 


Kate Spade New York's chief marketing officer, Jenny Campbell, described the song orchestrating their campaign as a "classic anthem of self-expression." The music being played in the video is The Rolling Stones hit song "She's a rainbow," which fits the colorful aesthetic of the campaign. 

One of the most popular aspects of the campaign is the small pig sporting some of the designs.  


The pig gained a fan following through Kate Spade's social media account. Most of this was due to how adorable the pig is, which is quite understandable.

Kate Spade created an excellent experience for New Yorkers to further the campaign's outreach. For the entirety of March, New Yorkers had the chance to ride a double-decker bus that would stop at select Kate Spade locations. New Yorkers could enjoy an "experiential garden getaway" at these locations. The bus was no exception to the aesthetic of the campaign. Covered in Kate Spade's new pattern, along with bright yellow florals, participants could truly experience the joy of the campaign for themselves.


On March 13th, Kate Spade used an eight-page-insert of the New York Times style section that readers could use to wrap gifts, cover a book, or wrap a bouquet of flowers.
“We want to remind our customers that it is important to celebrate the joyful moments, create more of them, and cherish them - whether that’s enjoying an extra hour of sunlight or seeing the perennials you planted blooming again.”
The models in the campaign wore bold and colorful clothing. The patterns are delicate due to the use of flowers and butterflies.



Kate spade does an excellent job using its social media for publicity. For example, they posted many images from their 2022 spring campaign. They also post celebrities who sport their products and high-quality photos to advertise their new line. 

 

Chanel

You cannot get more iconic than Chanel when it comes to beauty. Regardless of whether or not you can afford their products, you can enjoy looking at the beauty of their campaigns and the quality of what they sell. For their spring 2022 campaign, Chanel focused on Vivienne Rohner, who was photographed in Chanel's 2021 campaign as the primary model for its Ready-to-Wear collection. Virginie Viard's designs were photographed at a french villa in Provence by photographers Inez and Vinoodh.

According to Fashion Gone Rogue, Chanel's campaign is a "celebration of relaxation and elegance." The new collection includes ready-to-wearhandbags, shoes, costume jewelry, small leather goods, eyewear, and other accessories.  


According to Chanel: 

"The campaign for the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection is an ode to youth whose nonchalant grace resonates with the endless days of summer. Within the discreet charm of a villa in Provence, Inez & Vinoodh capture the model Vivienne Rohner and through her a certain notion of femininity."

Chanel posted all of the photos from the new line on its Instagram. The images all fit one theme. They are minimalistic, including the Chanel logo written under each image. This adds a certain aesthetic to both the campaign and its Instagram account. 


Chanel highlights the campaign on its website. The professionalism and creative aesthetic of the website catch the eyes of the viewer. The page closely resembles the Instagram posts, which continues the minimalism that the brand is trying to create. 

Chanel's Ready-to-Wear collection was then put on the runway. Photographers Inez and Vinoodh captured each model as they walked the runway. Over seventy looks were showcased at the fashion show to celebrate the new collection. 

Conclusion

Through imagery and creativity, Kate Spade New York and Chanel ran excellent spring campaigns. Running a new line should be something worth conversation, and both brands created a frenzy of discussion. Through these campaigns, fashion lovers can enjoy both the products and the brand's publicity. Although both brands have an expensive reputation, consumers love them due to the quality products and exclusive campaigns. I cannot wait to see what else these brands create this year, along with next year's spring collections. After all, according to Coco Chanel, "fashion changes, but style endures."
